A tall building connected by overhead walkway to the warehouses behind contains a working hoist, allowing transfer of goods (for example, steel coil) between trains, or from road to rail. The layout can be controlled by one or two operators: a two-aspect red/green lamp and a single-aspect red lamp are used to indicate the mode of operation and which operator has control of the rear tracks. Rechargeable battery packs at the rear provide the power supply. Traction is provided by a tiny industrial diesel loco and by an English Electric shunter, with a variety of domestic and international goods vans serving the various enterprises around the yard. Worker figures load sacks, barrels, crates, etc.
